CardRelay runs alongside the show, from the moment you walk in to the moment you shake the vendor's hand. Here's the whole experience, step by step.
The organizer schedules the show in CardRelay, approves participating vendors, and prints QR signage for the entrance and vendor tables. Collectors don’t need to do anything in advance.
One scan at the entrance opens CardRelay for this show. Pick a nickname — no account, no email, no app store. You’re in before you reach the first table.
Card name and category are enough. Add set, number, variant, condition floor, grade, or budget if you care — the more detail, the better vendors can answer.
Your relay reaches every participating vendor at once. Anyone who has the card responds with condition, optional price, their booth, and a short note. Several vendors can respond to the same relay.
Responses collect on your relay as they arrive. Compare condition, grade, price and vendor — in the order they answered, never auto-sorted by price. Tap Heading Over and the vendor knows you’re coming.
Inspect the card, talk it over, make the deal — or don’t. Mark the relay Found when it works out, or Passed if it wasn’t the right copy. Either way the loop closes cleanly for you and the vendor.
A relay that gets no response stays active in the background, then expires with the show. You lost nothing — and the organizer learns what demand went unmet.
Your relay stays live while you enjoy the show — no need to babysit it. If it ends without a match, that's real information too: it saves you the laps, and it tells the organizer what the room was missing.
Collectors join with just a nickname — no account, no email. Vendors see the request, not the person. Demand data stays private to the show as aggregate reporting. Nothing is sold, and nothing about an individual collector is published.
CardRelay never handles money, holds cards, or closes deals. Every relay ends the same way: two people at a table, looking at a card together. That part was never broken.
For collectors — from the front door to the handshake.
QR at the entrance, nickname, done. No account required.
A few relays for the cards you came for. Under a minute each.
Browse, trade, talk. Responses find you — not the other way round.
Pick a response, meet the vendor, close it in person.
The interactive prototype walks through the whole loop — collector, vendor, and the show's own view.
